Katherine Heigl admits her childhood in a white bubble and how this experience impacted how she raised adopted multiracial children. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different they were. "I inquired of my sister, Meg whether she'd received the same treatment when she was going out with us parents, and another way when she went out on her own without anyone else. Meg replied: "Oh, sure, I've seen it all!' This made me realize I had been so naive," Heigl said to parents. Her anger grew by the incident, and decided to channel her anger into assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl is married to Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year-old girl who they adopted in 2012.
